Invisalign+ Introduction

Founded in 1997, Invisalign is a treatment that uses transparent aligners to move and straighten teeth. Invisalign is a modern solution to straightening your teeth without wires. Clear, smooth and durable plastic is custom moulded into a set of nearly invisible aligners that snap into place over your teeth.

Here's a comparison of the different orthodontic treatments that our clinic offers:

1. Traditional Metal Braces: This is most popular for teens and consists of wires and brackets made of stainless cemented on the teeth. It is relatively inexpensive compared to other orthodontic treatments and is popular among teenagers who enjoy colourful elastics. It requires more frequent visits, and the presence of elastics and wires can make it difficult to clean. As the forces applied to the teeth are heavy, intermittent forces, it can be more painful. Ulcers are also expected.

2. Self - Ligating Braces: We offer both metal and ceramic brackets for this option. Ceramic braces are considered "clear braces" and are more aesthetically pleasing than metal. The forces applied are much less than traditional metal braces, but still forceful enough for some discomfort after each braces appointment. Less ulcers are expected as the brackets tend to be smaller with less hooks compared to the traditional braces.

3. Invisalign: Referred to as "invisible braces", it's nearly invisible and it's not obvious when you smile. It is beneficial for oral health because it allows for normal brushing and flossing. As it is a fully customised treatment, treatment time for Invisalign can be faster compared to traditional methods. Teeth are moved with a constant, low force compared to traditional braces, which leads to less pain. It also requires fewer visits to the dentist's office.
